Thanks for this interview. I've thouroughly enjoyed many of D. Lodge's novels, but had never had the opportunity to see or listen to him. I was also touched when I learned he's going deaf (knowing that I'm gradually going down that road myself). I can't help but agreeing with him that it is an issue when it comes to social settings.
I was so delighted with the chance of listening to his speech and even having a short talk with DL when he came for the Feria del Libro a few years ago..., very nice man despite of the questions Mr. Quiroga -the 'moderator' OMG!- made.
